What is a Boxer?

A boxer is a canine specimen of love, devotion and understanding. He may be brindle or fawn, flashy or plain. His trim but muscular build and pompous air display a stalwart vigor. His expressive, deep brown eyes are demonstrative of his keenness.
He enters your home merely as an inquisitive playful pup. But before long he gains his standing as an individual very dear to you. He seems to be more than a figure of dogdom; almost a character in the realm of humanhood.
He can romp hard and fast -- but he can gauge his play to man or child.
He can converse in any tongue, saying all that is within his heart. Yet, he speaks not a word.
He discriminates friend from foe by careful judgement; he thinks before he leaps; he possesses strength without impudence and courage without ferocity. He holds the virtues of man without his vices.
He has qualities which make him a general, a good-will ambassador -- and a prince -- all in one.
His assets consist of loyalty, honesty, courtesy, self discipline, forcefulness, cheerfulness and service. When you find a dog who is smarter, more alert, more noble, and safer with children, he will undoubtedly be just a better boxer.
His intelligent mind and desire to render service make him useful as an obedience dog, a watchdog, a guide dog for the blind, a guardian for children and countless other functions. When given the opportunity, he even performs quite well as a hunting companion.
He is a bundle of fun-loving, tail-wagging enthusiasm; or if you wish, he maintains the dignity of a gentleman.
He appreciates discipline and obedience and recognizes its rewards. He endeavors to please, regardless of the task.
He likes balls and bones
And squeaky toys
